The Tuesday Tip :: Brow Control
Insider tips are always the best when it comes to makeup – professional artists have sifted through products, honing their repertoires down to a science, and it’s time for us to take advantage. One of my favorite backstage-at-fashion-week tips is this:
Brow gels are fine, but the professionals use little more than a disposable mascara wand (find them at Sally Beauty Supply) and a can of L’Oreal Paris’ Elnett Hairspray (available at CVS, opt for the unscented version). Simply mist the mascara wand with hairspray, and brush through your brows for a firm, yet invisible, hold all day.
The thing I love about this technique is that you don’t get the wet brow look that often results from using gel, but it keeps my brows in place all day. Plus, previously only available in Europe, Elnett is a magic trick in and of itself – it brushes out, but offers weightless hold and humidity resistance throughout even a KC summer day. Just look at Kourtney Kardashian hoarding it overseas before it was available in the U.S.:
Think of them what you will, but those girls know their cosmetics. If the Kardashians are into it, I’m taking notice.
